“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.”

Nietzsche has been speaking to me since I was a little girl – and through my journey of making small but distinct choices to dance to my own tunes. Not in a self-absorbed or a revolutionary way but rather, in a joyous, listening to my soul, liberating kind of a way.

Hello, I am Jaya and I am so thrilled to share a piece of my world with you.

About me

In my life

Marketer by profession, I have always been a Storyteller at heart. I love people, their diversity, their needs, their stories and I thrive on the energy that comes with exchanges of the soul. And hence, for me writing is a natural, mellifluous flow of the soul to paper.

And with great love and some courage, I am finally opening that part of my soul here with my Blog “In My Life” with the hope and excitement to connect stories and souls. Currently on an year-long sabbatical from my corporate job, I am looking to connect with creative energy and see where that takes me.

"Not all those who wander are lost."
-J.R.R. TOLKEIN

Travelling is my catalyst to see, feel, live the people-energy that I love so much, in the most pure, unadulterated and sometimes, the most unexpected ways. I light up with the thought of travel, the mention of a place - new or old, the idea of exploring life in a different part of world, the prospect of a world waiting to embrace us… and so blessed am I to have a partner, rather two partners now, who share this joy with me, creating the sweet nostalgia with some amazing pictures as we go around the world.

And hence, though not the most professional or organised, but I am pleased to share some of my travel stories with “Yellow Submarine”, with the promise to update it more often, and re-live the joy of my travels, reminiscing through the scribbles in tiny diaries, notes on boarding passes as I put them all here, for the love of travel.

“And once the storm is over, you won't remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won't be the same person who walked in. That's what this storm's all about." - Haruki Murakami

This part, I thought a lot about and then I heard a tiny voice from inside tell me that my pain is as much a part of me, as are my stories and my travels. As someone with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis, I feel the disease has given me more than it could take away from me – empathy, patience, self-believe and discipline to take care of myself. And hence, as an #Endosister I am here to listen and share, if you know of anyone who wants to know about surgery, hormones, hysterectomy, clean eating, or just wants to speak.

“We are the music makers

And we are the dreamers of dreams, …

…Yet we are the movers and shakers

Of the world for ever, it seems.”

– Ode, Arthur O'Shaughnessy

And last but not the least, as poetic as it sounds, I love what I do professionally. As a Marketer I have loved being able to create amazing people energy whether it is for our consumers and customers or with the amazing people I work with at Castrol. We thoroughly love what we do, how we do it and most importantly why we do it. And once in a while, I love going back to college to teach and, in that process, learn from the young talent and of course, relive the joy of campus life.
